Rev Joshua and Eloise Scherer began ministry at Gawler Uniting in August 2017. Rev Josh has a passion to see our community transformed with the gospel. He was ordained in 2017, after completing studies through Uniting College for Leadership and Theology. He began in ministry in 2012 and served as a Discipleship Pastor at Parafield Gardens Uniting, and as Associate Pastor at Playford Uniting. As a former Police Officer, he brings a keen perspective about the way the gospel has the power to speak into the real places of everyday life. Josh and Eloise were married in 2008 and have two daughters, Mackenzie and Phoebe.
Josh serves the wider church as a volunteer chaplain at Elizabeth Police Station, as the Chairperson for UCare Gawler, and is involved in formation panels that oversee new ministry students at Uniting College for Leadership and Theology.
