What can you expect?
Every church is a little different. Stepping into a new environment can be daunting. Here are some FAQ's to help.
-
What is it like?
- Our service is about 75 minutes long, and includes some singing, prayers and a teaching from the bible designed to be engaging and helpful.
-
What about my kids?
- For Pre-schoolers, we have a play area in the worship space. They stay with you for the whole service. Don't worry if they make a little noise. It's a joy to have them as part of our community. We also have a parent room next to the play area for feeding/changing needs.
- For school age children, we have Kingdom Kids (Primary) and Awakening (Highschool) both of which head out before the message.
-
Where do I park?
- You can park in our church carpark next to the new church hall building, or in the Drakes Supermarket carpark directly next door to the historic church building.
-
What do I wear?
- We are a relaxed community, so you'll find neat casual fits in best. Just wear what you'd wear out for lunch at a local hotel. It is worth noting that the Historic Church Building does not have significant climate control (yet), so dressing adequately for warm/cold weather is a good idea.
-
How can I get connected?
- Our welcome team will greet you at the door, and help you navigate the welcome process. We have an online connect card you can fill in to let us know you are visiting, and if you'd like to learn more about the church.
-
Do I need to sing?
- There is no expectation for you to sing. Many people find it helpful to participate as much as they feel comfortable. If you don't know the songs, simply listening along can be a helpful way to learn the tune, and learn what the song is all about.
-
What happens after the service?
- If you feel comfortable, you're welcome to stick around for a barista coffee (on the house) and some morning tea. Our welcome team will help you connect with some members of our community. We have regular welcome lunches held after morning tea, which is a great way to meet our Pastor and some of the leadership team. Keep an eye out for the next one!
