Basis of Union
Gawler Uniting Church is a congregation of the Uniting Church in Australia. We are guided by the Basis of Union in matters of polity and theology.
Gawler Uniting Church has a rich history spanning more than 170 years. Having been established long before the Union of the Uniting Church in Australia in 1977, it carries tradition from across the Methodist, Congregational and Presbyterian churches throughout the Gawler District. The church is situated on Tod Street, which was built in 1869 as Gawler (Tod St) Methodist Church. Yet the current worshipping community has members and a heritage of worship, witness and service from Gawler West, Willaston, Gawler River and Virginia Methodist Churches.
